Do you have a printed catalogue and price list?
Hot Source does not supply a printed catalogue or price list . We are constantly adding new products and our prices are tailor made for you.
Please refer to the products page for our new and popular products which is updated regularly. You can also download our basic product overview list from our helpful department lists page.
Are you a shop? Can I come and buy direct from you?
We love saving you time and unnecessary expense so place your order over the phone or by email and let us do the rest.
However we can’t resist showing off what we have on our shelves and you are more than welcome to pop in to the University Estate office, browse and purchase directly.
This office is staffed from 9am – 5pm plus we do our best to offer convenient after hours service too.
Are your deliveries really free?
Yes, if they are within a 50km radius of our offices in University Estate and we are delivering something you have bought from us.
Anything over 50km we will be charging you a whopping R10 per kilometer.
What if I can't find something I want on your site or on your helpful lists?
Call us, let us know, we will find it for you. We love hearing about new products that will make your work simpler and better.
Can you bring in products from overseas?
Service is everything to us. Let us know what you need and we can use our preferential rates with our overseas freight companies to bring in your goods.
We are VAT and Customs registered and can facilitate the efficient and cost effective transfers of goods to your door.
Can I get a crew or a student/educator discount?
Discounts for Crew buying for their personal rental boxes and students are available Students must please bring along a valid student I.D.
Educators must bring or send a copy of their valid faculty I.D. and academic institutions must also include a copy of a valid school purchase order.
Can I return unused hard drives?
We have a lot of requests to take back drives that were over ordered and therefore unused on shoots. We urge you to carefully consider how many drives you will need for your shoot, however we are ALWAYS willing to assist you in finding solutions for what are often challenging logistic.
Please discuss this upfront with us should you think you may need less drives than what you are ordering. Having said that please see below our basic terms and conditions for the upfront and agreed upon return of hard drives:
c. The Company will provide the Customer with a full purchase refund on unused drives returned, less a 10% administrative and handling fee under the following non-negotiable conditions :
1) the possible return of drives has been discussed prior to the commencement of the shoot
2) the drive is returned in it’s original packaging with the manufacturer’s seal intact
3) the packaging is in a good order and there are no visible signs of damaged.

Are there any items I cannot return or exchange?
The following items may not be returned or exchanged:
- Software
- lighting gels
- headsets
- earpieces
- eye cushions
- adhesive tape including gaffer tape and paper tape
- batteries
- blank media
- bulbs
- Chroma key and cut materials/fabric/rope/safety line
- – all sales in these are final.
